MacKenzie and Chanel are good friends and also dance for Clackamas High School so we played around a lot and came up with some fun shots.
I saw a great band “The Toadies” back in April and here is a little slideshow of some of the images from the Hawthorne Theatre performance.
Great band, great photos. The behind the scenes pictures are always fun to look at. I’m a huge fan of the group and I’ve taken pictures at their shows, but as a fan not a professional. If I get front and center (no back of head obstruction) my pictures always come out decent. Once I’m two or more fan deep it’s almost pointless to take a photo because no matter how much I focus on the band the picture flashes on the nearest back of fan head giving me a great shot of male pattern baldness and a blurred shot of the band. Unless the average person is you (yes I’m jealous) with band and venue access equipped with a pro camera picture taking at shows with a point and shoot camera at a distance is pointless. Is there any way to program a point and shoot to get those shots you got from the end of your slideshow where there is a very clear focus on the band and the backs of fans heads are blurry?
We walked around downtown Portland in the Pearl district and had a lot of fun. These are some of my favorites.
Love the setting for this shoot. Great set!
You two look so happy together. I wish you two the best of luck, health, and happiness for life. Ken, thanks for being such a great standup guy for Erin. Erin I’m so very happy for you and Ken both. I wish I could have been up in Oregon to witness your beautiful day.
Best wishes, Brandon Chavoya
I just placed 8th overall in the Spring 2009 ISPWP contest which is pretty exciting. I thought I would share some of the images that placed, in fact two of them placed 1st in their category, which was very cool.
ISPWP is a great association with a lot of integrity and if you are looking for a great photographer anywhere-check out the site.
WOW!!!!! Your pictures are awesome. You always seem to come up with a new creative way to take photographs. I’m always impressed. Congradulations on being in the top 20 for the second time.
We got a few morels, thanks to your dad’s eagle eye.
Love, Mom

Great shots – the action sequences with the bending figures and flips of the hair are money! Brilliant compositions. They must be stoked. Great work!
I love the lighting on the action shots! Really cool! Looks like they had some fun.
